How Fresh Rinse Works In Food Service

1. Prepare the Solution

The Fresh Rinse Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) is dispensed from the on-site generator into the produce sink at the specified concentration to create the sanitizing solution. No manual mixing - the system auto generates the correct concentration every time.

2. Soak & Agitate

Produce is placed directly into the solution and agitated by hand — no protective gear required. Produce remains submerged for the contact time specified for that product; refer to the time chart for exact durations.

3. Rinse, Spin, Store

Produce is transferred to the second available sink for a final rinse, then run through a produce spinner. Once dry, it’s placed into a sanitized container and moved into the refrigerator.

Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl)

Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) is a safe, non-toxic, and highly effective sanitizer — and it's not new to the world. Your own body makes HOCl naturally: white blood cells called neutrophils produce it to destroy invading pathogens. HOCl works by breaking down the cell membrane of bacteria and viruses, stopping their growth and replication on contact.

HOCl is being used everywhere & all the time

  • Health Care — wound cleaning, surface disinfection, and infection control, etc.

  • Food Industry — produce washing, and sanitizing food-contact surfaces and equipment, etc.

  • Fresh Rinse uses HOCl technology the FDA authorizes for produce wash and USDA lists as an allowed under the National List for organic operations. No synthetic or toxic chemicals, no artificial fragrances
